Your shotgun is at arms port. The dog working the wind and cover goes on point. You slowly approach where the dog has signaled and a rooster Ringneck breaks upward in a flurry with wings chopping the air as he rises like a fighter plane on take off. Instinctively your shotgun is at your shoulder, and with the break of the trigger and crack of the gun the bird plummets down. A few seconds later your best hunting buddy is at your side, tail wagging frantically, a mouthful of pheasant, and proud eyes looking at you with a look that says "lets go do it again!"
This is the wing shooters dream, a dream that you can regularly experience while hunting upland birds at one of Michigans largest pheasant hunting preserves-- the Superior Game Ranch Pheasant Division |

European Tower Hunt Birds are released from a 28 ft. high tower on a 20 ft. hill, and the shooters are placed at stands which circle the tower at about an 80 yd. radius.
Annually in late August / early September we hold our Grand Tower Shoot which generally consists of hundreds of birds released and a pig roast afterwards. After the dinner, participants of the shoot hunt scratch birds in the fields at their pleasure.
(Scratch birds are the ones that got away.)
We also have a team shoot with a rival pheasant hunting club. The team shoot for 2006 call for date and time.
Hunting SeasonDog Training with Ringneck pheasants begins July 15, and regular hunting begins August 15 through April 30. Exotics can be hunted year around.
Physically Challenged? We welcome the physically challenged. We will make every effort within our means to accommodate your hunting needs. |
